The winner of the Culinary Cup is Daniel Dušek
The first ever winner of the Culinary Cup, a competition of the most talented Czech and Slovak chefs from Delirest and Primirest restaurants, is chef Daniel Dušek from the Primirest school restaurant in Litomyšl.
The winner of the Culinary Cup was decided by "a knife-edge" duel, so to speak. All contestants were given three hours to prepare a complete three-course menu. Culinary imagination and creativity were not limited, but the condition was that:
- - the starter contained mushrooms,
- - the key "ingredient" in the gluten-free soup was autumn vegetables,
- - the main gluten-free course was dominated by venison.
At the end, the only "Primirest" chef in the final - Daniel Dušek - became a winner of prestigious Culinary cup. The winner impressed judges with "škvarky" (rinds/ cracklings) made from oyster mushrooms and great technique. "I think that the main reason behind my victory is the fulfillment of the competition requirements. I managed to keep the number of portions with minimal loss of ingredients," evaluated his success Daniel very rationally.
