We Eat, We Learn, We Live educational programme
As pioneers, we’re introducing a self-service model of school dining in the Czech Republic, inspired by the Finnish approach. Children serve themselves, so they have to determine the quantity and composition of their lunch based on a displayed sample portion. When they’re done eating, they sort their leftovers and place the dishes into a dishwasher. The goal is to teach the young diners about independence and responsibility. Not only they waste less food this way, but also learn the principles of sustainable eating and the value of food. Also, by setting example to each other, they’re encouraged to taste dishes they would otherwise avoid.
mascot
The playful character Barvožrout (Coloureater) accompanies children in each of our restaurants and cafeterias. We created the mascot of tasty and quality school lunches intentionally as a friendly cartoon character. It has a contest for the children, through which they learn what a balanced diet should look like and that lunch doesn't have to be just either fried or sweet. Throughout the year they choose their lunches based on colour marks reflecting the nutritional value of the meals, and if they manage to keep their diet well balanced, they can win exciting sports prizes. After all, a responsible approach to food is best learnt through play.
