Iodine Days in Primirest

The Primirest Culinary Calendar will help to solve one of the most common "mischiefs" of children's (school) menus - the absence of fish and fish products.

Unfortunately, fish dishes are still not a natural part of Czech households' menus (and sometimes, unfortunately, even school canteens), even - not only nutritionally - fishes are essential for children. The lack of tradition has meant that not everyone knows how to prepare fish in a suitable and tasty way. Moreover, children's fear of new food (new tastes and smells) can quickly put an end to efforts to include fish more often.

Give fish another chance! During the third week of March, all Primirest school canteens and restaurants are serving a delicious poached salmon with leeks, butter sauce and basmati rice.

The March CulinaryCalendar is a part of the Primirest activities for International Iodine Day, which reminds us how indispensable it is for our bodies. Iodine contributes to normal thyroid function, is important for proper metabolic function, brain development and mental well-being. Iodine cares for healthy skin, strong hair, nails and healthy teeth.

Therefore, our mascot of school lunches "Barvožřout" advises all diners: "Try sea fish for lunch and consume milk, dairy products and cosal vegetables whenever possible. Iodine, a mineral invisible to the eye but extremely important, will give you energy, good mood, and you will grow healthily."
